How long does new plaster take to dry?
A skim coat is usually dry enough to decorate in about 3–7 days, depending on the weather and ventilation. A full re-plaster or thick backing coat can take 2–4 weeks. It's ready when it has turned an even light pink with no dark patches. Then use a watered-down mist coat before your normal paint.
Do you clean up afterwards?
Always. Floors and furniture are sheeted before we start, and when we finish we hoover, wipe down and take all our waste away. You won't be left with a skip's worth of mess.
Can you cover artex ceilings?
Yes, it's one of our most popular jobs. We skim straight over the artex, so it is never sanded or scraped. Artex put up before 2000 can contain asbestos, and covering it is the safe way to deal with it. If it's damaged or needs removing, we'll advise getting it tested first.
Are you insured?
Yes, we're fully insured with £2 million public liability cover. We're happy to show you the certificate when we visit.
How much does plastering cost?
It depends on the size of the room, the state of the walls and how much prep is needed. That's why every quote is free and fixed: we look at the job, then give you one clear price in writing.
How soon can you start?
We can usually visit within a few days and start within one to three weeks. Small repairs can often be squeezed in sooner, so just ask.
